How PermitMap Works

Why Permit Data?

Building-permit records document planned or authorized construction activity and can reveal local demand before that activity is obvious from completed work. PermitMap uses newly published jurisdiction records as a timing signal: contractors can identify relevant projects, verify the recorded scope and parties, and decide whether an opportunity merits outreach. A permit does not establish that a particular trade remains unawarded, so project-level records and broader market-demand statistics are presented as separate evidence layers.

What We Do

PermitMap combines two evidence layers: monthly county-level construction-demand statistics from public datasets and project-level records from supported jurisdiction feeds. Feed-backed records can include addresses, descriptions, filing dates, valuations when reported, and recorded project parties. Availability and field completeness vary by jurisdiction, so PermitMap preserves source context rather than treating every market or record as identical.

Counties We Cover

PermitMap's public intelligence layer covers all 67 Florida counties with comparable Census BPS data. Project-level feed coverage is narrower and changes as jurisdiction connectors are activated or updated.

PermitMap has published permit records for 113 markets: 97 in Florida, 10 in Texas, and 6 in North Carolina. County, municipal, and specialty scopes are labeled separately.

What's in a PermitMap Report

Each report is a filtered, scored list of the permit records for your trade and market. Record fields vary by source and jurisdiction and can include the property address, the project scope, the permit valuation when the source reports it, the filing date, and the owner or contractor of record where available — and each is scored 0–100 so the highest-scored records rise to the top. A dashboard lets you search, filter, and export. PermitMap does not promise a delivery day or time; source records publish on each source's own schedule.

Filing and construction timing varies by jurisdiction, permit type, review process, and project. A permit record is a project signal, so verify its status and scope instead of assuming a fixed lead time. Permits are public records that may be available to others. PermitMap does not make them exclusive and does not promise you will reach an owner first. PermitMap discovers opportunities; it does not guarantee jobs, leads, close rates or revenue.
